At least 42 credits, which is the minimum major recognition credit for each department (major), must be completed.
Overview of Double Major
Application & Selection
Eligibility
- Students who have completed at least 2 semesters.
- Students on leave of absence are not eligible, except those scheduled to return.
- Second Double Major: available only after completing at least half of the required credits in the first double major.
- Transfer students: eligible after completing 2 semesters at JBNU.
Available Departments
- All departments except Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, and Pharmacy.
- For departments in the College of Education, only students from the College of Education may apply.
Application Period
- Every semester: mid-May (Spring) and mid-October (Fall).
- Apply via the portal OASIS (“Curriculum → Double/Interdisciplinary/Convergence Major Application”).
Selection
- Admission is limited to within 50% of the annual enrollment quota, depending on the department’s capacity.
- Each department may set its own criteria (e.g., credits, GPA, interview, written or practical exam).
Minor Major / 부전공
Overview of Minor Programs
The Minor Program allows students to complement their major by completing at least 21 credits from the designated courses of another department. Upon completion, the minor will be officially recognized on the diploma and academic transcript.

Cooperation Major / 연계전공 & Convergence Major / 융합전공
Overview of Convergence Major
Curriculum
- Students must complete a minimum number of credits from the approved curriculum, which consists of existing courses offered by participating departments.
Application
- Students must apply for a Convergence/Interdisciplinary Major during the official application period for double majors or minors.
※There is a separate application period for other major methods except for the deeper major, so please find out and apply.
※Graduation credit requirements may differ depending on each department (major).
Students are advised to check the detailed requirements with the respective department (major).
